Weddings at Rocklands Farm Winery

Rocklands Farm Winery is a working farm with 100 acres of vineyard, pasture, and cutting gardens in Maryland's Agricultural Reserve. The wine in your guests' glasses was grown in the soil outside the barn door. The flowers on your tables were cut from our garden that morning.

We host a limited number of weddings each year, on Saturdays in May, June, September, and October. Limited by choice, so that every couple gets our full attention and the farm feels like it's yours.

What makes it different

There are a lot of beautiful places to get married near DC. Here's what makes us different.

“We are flower farmers, cattle ranchers, winemakers and families inviting you to join us in our home and livelihood. Our vision is for you to celebrate and recreate a joyous evening of feasting and merriment in the barn akin to what those hand-hewn beams have seen in years past.”

The wine is made here

Every bottle poured at your wedding comes from our vineyard and our two partner vineyards. Not a house wine from a distributor: estate-grown, handcrafted, low intervention wines we make here on the farm, each with a transparency of place and time.

Greg, Anna, Jeni and the team are personally involved

We open up our home and our farm to you and stay close from the first tour to the last dance, and we care about how your day goes.

The flowers come from our gardens and Meadows

Our Wildcrafted florals are grown out back and designed here in our flower shop. Seasonal, living, and rooted in this land.

A short Drive from DC. 100 acres of privacy

Your guests don't need to travel far to feel transported. Poolesville is an easy drive from DC, Bethesda, and Virginia, and the farm feels like a world away from all of it.

Planning & day-of coordination

From your first tour to the final walk through a month before the wedding, we are with you. We'll help you think through the details that matter, from flowers and wine selections, to vendor timing, and how the day flows from one space to the next. When your wedding day arrives, you’ll feel calm and relaxed.

Mingling

While you take portraits in the vineyard, meadows and gardens, your guests will mingle in the barn yard lawn with a glass of Rocklands wine. The farm gives people room to wander, settle in, and find each other.

Getting ready

The farm has beautiful spaces to get ready and spend some intimate time with your closest family and friends before the guests arrive. It's quiet, private, and far enough from the action that you can relax before the ceremony. Some of our couples' favorite photos of the day are taken here.

Feasting

The Bank Barn opens up for the wedding feast. Long farmhouse tables, warm wood tones, string lights and pastoral views are visible through the wide open doors. Imagine a romping good time at the community farm, embellished with the elegance of abundant flowers, local food, music and dancing deep into the night.

The ceremony

Most of our ceremonies take place on the Stone House lawn, with the 1870s Sandstone house as the backdrop and the open Maryland sky above. It's unhurried and grounding because everything around you is alive and real.

Merriment

As the evening winds down and the cicadas and stars are out, you meander to the bonfire to take a break from the dancing and catch up with your out of town cousins under the twinkling lights. We leave the fire going until it's time to go home.
