A Harvest Field Trip at Rocklands Farm Winery

One of our favorite things about making wine is getting to know the people who share it with their guests.

During harvest season, we had the pleasure of welcoming the team from Bar Alice Anne in Baltimore for a day at the farm. Their visit was part field trip, part team retreat, and all around a really good time.

A Day in the Vineyard During Harvest

Harvest is one of the most exciting times of year at Rocklands Farm Winery. There’s always something happening in the vineyard and winery, and it’s a great opportunity to give our restaurant partners a behind-the-scenes look at where their wine comes from.

The Bar Alice Anne crew came out for the day to explore the vineyards, see harvest in action, and experience the winemaking process up close.

They tasted fresh grape juice and checked out the many ferments in progress—getting a firsthand look at the transformation from grapes to wine.

For us, these visits are about more than just showing people around. We love being able to connect the people who sell and serve our wine with the farm, the vineyards, and the work that goes into every bottle.

Lunch, Wine, and Time Together

After exploring the vineyard and winery, we settled in for a relaxing lunch in the corn crib.

Of course, there was plenty of wine.

A farm visit during harvest can be a busy day, so taking some time to sit down together, share a meal, and enjoy a few glasses of wine was the perfect way to wrap things up.

There was plenty of conversation, plenty of laughter, and plenty of time to simply enjoy being together.

It was exactly the kind of day we love hosting at the farm: relaxed, educational, delicious, and a little bit removed from the usual workday.

A Different Kind of Team Retreat

A team retreat at a winery offers a chance to get out of the office and do something together that feels genuinely different.

Instead of a conference room, you have vineyards. Instead of a catered lunch at the office, you can share a meal at the farm. And instead of a typical team-building activity, you can taste wine, explore the winemaking process, and spend time getting to know the people on your team in a more relaxed setting.

For our friends in the restaurant and hospitality world, it’s also a chance to see the other side of the wine business.

We loved having the Bar Alice Anne team here and showing them around during one of the most exciting times of the year.

From Our Farm to Your Neighborhood

We’re always excited to welcome our restaurant partners to Rocklands Farm Winery, especially during harvest.

But we also love the idea of returning the favor. We’re looking forward to bringing our own team out to eat at Bar Alice Anne and exploring their neck of the woods in Baltimore.

And for all of our friends in Baltimore, we’ll see you soon! Rocklands will be pouring at Bar Alice Anne on October 15, so come visit us there, say hello, and taste some Rocklands wine outside the farm.

That’s one of the best parts of working in wine: the relationships extend well beyond the bottle.

From our farm to their restaurant, and back again, it’s all about good food, good wine, good people, and good times.

Thanks to the Bar Alice Anne crew for spending the day with us. Come back anytime!
