If you are looking for a DC winery event space that handles the atmosphere for you, come celebrate at Rocklands Farm Winery. We’re located in Poolesville, Maryland, just a short drive from Washington DC and Bethesda.
Tucked into the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve, Rocklands is a working farm and winery. We open our spaces for private events throughout the fall and winter season.
November at Rocklands: Friendsgiving, Thanksgiving, and the Season's First Gatherings
November is one of the best months to be at Rocklands. The harvest is in, the fields are turning, and the farm has a special stillness in the weeks before winter. For Friendsgiving gatherings, a long table in the Bank Barn is the perfect fit. Flowers running down the center, Rocklands wine poured by the glass. All the warmth of a home gathering without the clean up. Bring a pot luck or have it catered. Groups of 20 to 120 can be accommodated in the barn.
For something more casual, the outdoor fire pit areas are available for private rentals in November. Bring your own food, pick up a few bottles from the tasting room, and spend an evening around the fire pit. It’s casual, easy, and memorable.
The tasting room is open Thursday through Sunday throughout November for walk-ins, which means smaller gatherings can simply show up and settle in without a formal booking. For groups looking for reserved private space, indoors or out, the events team handles everything from inquiry through the last glass poured.
December at Rocklands: Year-End Team Events, Client Appreciations, and Family Reunions
Bistro lights strung overhead, a fire pit in the barnyard, Rocklands wine… For corporate groups, December at Rocklands works beautifully for year-end team dinners, client appreciation events, and holiday celebrations that feel genuinely different from a restaurant buyout. The barn holds up to 120 guests.
The Rocklands Difference
What makes Rocklands different from other DC winery event spaces is that this is still an active farm. The wine is made here. The flowers come from the fields. The atmosphere is rustic, because the property is a hundred years old.

Hosting Your Team's Year-End Celebration at Rocklands Farm Winery
We have been hosting team events, client dinners, and year-end celebrations for years, and the thing we hear most consistently after a group spends an evening here is that it felt nothing like what they expected and exactly like what they needed.
We can host groups of 20 to 120 in the Bank Barn, which has a built-in bar, a dance floor, two loft areas, and sliding doors that open to views of the vineyard. For smaller groups, the Corn Crib or tasting room offer more intimate settings. Every space on the property has been here for generations and none of them need much help looking beautiful in December. But we are decorated inside and out for the holidays!
The Wine
We’ll provide the wine for your year-end event. We think that is one of the best parts of hosting here - your team is drinking something with a story, made twenty steps from where they are sitting.
The Food
We work with a curated group of catering partners who know this property well. Our preferred caterers have been working with us for over a decade and handle everything from food and bar service to shuttle coordination and setup. The food here tends to be seasonal and farm-informed.
The Evening
There is no single format for a year-end event at Rocklands. Some groups do a cocktail hour followed by a seated dinner. Some do a more casual long-table dinner with wine flowing throughout. Some add live music. Some end with everyone around the bonfire.
